The next UK Budget is scheduled for 11th March. This will have more interest than usual as the first Budget of the new Government led by Boris Johnson, the first Budget after the UK has left the EU and
a budget delivered by the new Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, whose appointment following the resignation of his predecessor Sajid Javid was less than a month before the Budget and at a time of apparent tension between the Treasury and the Prime Minister.
It remains to be seen whether there will be any significant changes affecting employee share schemes, although announcements
relating to the future availability of Entrepreneurs’ Relief are expected which may reduce the scope and size of the reliefs available.
Pett Franklin will be updating our guide to key tax facts concerning share schemes – see our Share Schemes at a Glance page to download a free copy – to reflect whatever changes are introduced by the 2020 Budget.
